Sarthak Dayal Mathur, a year 11 student at Cambridge International School, Dubai has made his school proud by winning at the FIRST LEGO League, one of the challenging guided global competition for young, bright and future minds in Robotics.
First LEGO League program is built around theme-based challenges to engage children ages 9 to 16 in research, problem solving, coding, and engineering. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce.
It’s a story of “never give up till you scale the peak”. Sarthak and his team were placed 4th position in their first year of entry at UAE First Lego League National Level, however, their team won 1st position in category “Best Robotic Design” and went on to represent UAE team at First Lego League International Championship in Bath, London.
In 2018, Sarthak and his team reached the top 8 teams out of 250 teams and were selected to represent UAE at International Level. In the same year, the team was chosen to represent UAE for Arab Open Robotics Championship held in Egypt where they won 3rd position in Research Category. Last year in January 2019, Sarthak and his team qualified to represent UAE at First Lego League Arabia which was held in Jordan. Making the country and his coach proud, the team won 3rd position for “Strategy and Innovation Award”.
A promising start to 2020, this year Sarthak and team are the champions of FLL Strategy and Innovation Award.
Kim Santiago, executive secretary at Fun Robotics on behalf of the Fun Robotics Team, congratulated Marc, Raghav, Eliot, Sarthak, Gaspard and Musa of City 4 U Team for winning FLL Strategy and Innovation award. Thanks to the trainers, Baraa Al Jilani and Ola Al Kurdi for giving their full attention and great determination in coaching the students for this event.
