(BUSINESS WIRE)--New research by Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and Laserfiche — the leading SaaS provider of intelligent content management and business process automation — reveals that most healthcare organizations’ top priorities when considering integrative technologies are the elimination of manual work, mitigation of clinician/worker burnout and time savings.

The study surveyed medical practice administrators, physicians, billing and coding leaders and health information technology (HIT) workers for their views on electronic health records (EHR) or practice management (PM) systems, business automation and more. According to the report, most healthcare organizations are not looking to make a switch to a new EHR or PM system and nearly 80% of respondents rated their current EHR system as “very good” or “good.” However, when it came time to rate EHR systems’ individual attributes, those ratings dropped. Only half of respondents rated their EHR systems “very good” or “good” at saving time; 47% said they were very good or good at saving money; and only 40% said they were very good or good at mitigating clinician/worker burnout.

“Time-strapped organizations need integrated technologies to extract value from data without adding to the long list of manual tasks for already overwhelmed employees,” Nam added. “Investments in systems that enable business process automation while facilitating information governance are critical to healthcare organizations’ ability to leverage data and retain employees while providing a modern patient experience. Supporting the back office — including medical billing and coding, and working with third-party insurance companies — to boost speed and accuracy will be critical for on-time payments that impact revenue.”

Two-Thirds Of Executives Say That Sustainability is Doomed to Fall Short Unless Governments Step In

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- On the eve of the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28), GHD Advisory, a leading professional services company, today published the results of its global corporate sustainability research to uncover what’s holding organisations back from executing their sustainability strategies.

GHD Sustainability Monitor 2024: From Ambition to Action found that the scale of sustainability ambition is unnerving for most organisations and the gap between intention and action is significant. While a promising 97 percent of executives believe that their sustainability agenda is adding commercial value, more than 50 percent of executives feel that economic uncertainty has reduced or significantly reduced commitments and actions.

COP28 is a crucial moment for organisations and governments to evaluate progress on climate action and identify pathways towards increasing the rate of progress on sustainability. GHD is attending COP28 with a strong on-the-ground presence and program of activity across the blue and green zones, as well as Climate Action’s Sustainable Innovation Forum.

Research highlights:

The global research of 550 executives across the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and India examines the state of corporate sustainability.

    95 percent of executives say that sustainability is central to their organisation’s vision and strategy. Executives cited less confidence in integrating sustainability strategy across internal stakeholders. A greater level of stakeholder engagement and change management is needed than exists within organisations today.

    79 percent of executives believe a moderate to significant gap exists between what they are trying to achieve and what’s been implemented. The need for a step-change in external and internal stakeholder collaboration is seen as a hurdle.

    75 percent of executives said there are fundamental contradictions in the sustainability agenda with for-profit companies working towards making a positive impact while furthering the bottom-line.

    62 percent of organisations set targets aligned to the bare minimum of compliance and regulatory requirements. Begging the question whether this is enough to meet the scale and pace the world needs.

“While there is indeed solid progress with sustainability being strategically and commercially valued, it’s evident there are still significant and complex obstacles to overcome if organisations are going to make the herculean shifts needed to reach net zero goals,” said Richard Fechner, Executive General Manager, GHD Advisory. “The GHD Sustainability Monitor 2024 reveals the barriers which help to identify practical and tangible ways to overcome challenges and close the gap between ambition to action through new levels of engagement, collaboration and action. The challenges are complex, the action forward does not need to be,” Fechner added.

In addition, the report outlines five ways to expedite immediate sustainability action:

    Actualise sustainability: With economic uncertainty and budget constraints looming, test your strategy and identify the full cost of implementation against goals with a timeline.

    Lead with social engagement: Integrate stakeholders, internal and external. Explore the multitude of connection points that must be considered together and create an actionable plan for progress.

    Prioritise corporate sustainability regulation: Build internal and external stakeholder trust by gaining consensus on targets. Use regulation to drive new efficiencies and collaboration.

    Tackle Scope 3 emissions: Upskill and retool the supply chain through change management and behaviour-related programs to influence and educate to track and report Scope 3 emissions.

    Be a pioneer: Take advantage of early access to finite funding and talent to develop training and education programs to equip people with sustainability skills.

DATAVOLT Signs a Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of State-Of-The-Art Sustainable Data Centers in Uzbekistan

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and DataVolt to develop green data centers in Uzbekistan.


The MOU is aimed at supporting Uzbekistan’s goal of becoming a sustainable digital hub, focusing on the digital transformation of the country, the development of innovative digital technologies and attracting foreign investment into the IT sphere.


DataVolt will develop, invest and operate state-of-the-art data centers and make it the first fully renewable large data center campus in the region, which could eventually consist of several 100s of MW. The data centers will focus on high efficiency, innovation and sustainability solutions.


The Parties will also cooperate to attract international technology companies to Uzbekistan and to develop relevant skills and expertise among the Uzbek workforce.


Moreover, the Ministry of Digital Technologies and DataVolt emphasized the quality of the various outsourcing skills of the Uzbekistan workforce and the importance of cultivating Uzbekistan as an IT hub with Saudi companies.

نظام الملفات الموسع الواحد من خادم Amazon FSx لنظام NetApp ONTAP يستطيع أن يقدم ما يصل إلى 36 جيجابايت في الثانية من الإنتاجية و1.2 مليون عملية إدخال/إخراج في الثانية (IOPS) لمحرك الحالة الثابتة، وهو ما يعادل تحسينًا بمقدار تسعة أضعاف في الأداء بالمقارنة مع الإنتاجية بمقدار 4 جيجابايت في الثانية وحد 160,000 عملية IOPS لمحرك الحالة الثابتة القائم اليوم. يعمل عدد يصل إلى ستة أزواج من خوادم الملفات، حيث يقدم كل منها ما يصل إلى 6 جيجابايت في الثانية من الإنتاجية و200,000 عملية IOPS لمحرك الحالة الثابتة بتأخيرات تشغيل ملفات تقل عن مللي ثانية، وذلك كوحدة واحدة لقطاع تخزين. تستفيد تطبيقات الحوسبة من الأداء المتراكم الأعلى ومساحة اسم واحدة بنطاق بيتابايت بما يبسط إدارة مجموعات بيانات كبيرة ضمن نظام تخزين واحد. يستطيع العملاء بسهولة أن يرفعوا أعباء العمل الجديدة العالية الأداء أو ينقلونها أو يمددونها أو ينشرونها على AWS، مع الاعتماد على ميزات إدارة البيانات في نظام ONTAP إلى جانب المرونة وإمكانية التوسع والأمان في AWS.

New FSx for ONTAP scale-out file systems help organizations migrate or extend high-performance data-intensive workloads to the cloud


 


(BUSINESS WIRE)--NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP), the intelligent data infrastructure company, announced at re:Invent, scale-out FSx for ONTAP® file systems through its collaboration with AWS. Scale-out file systems offer up to nine times higher storage performance compared to existing file systems, enabling customers to run high-performance applications on AWS more quickly and efficiently.


FSx for ONTAP enables customers to use ONTAP’s data management features for a wide variety of workloads, such as user and application file shares, relational databases (SAP HANA), data stores for VMware cloud on AWS and backup and disaster recovery. With the new enhancements, customers can now use FSx for ONTAP for a broader range of higher-performance use cases, such as high-performance computing (HPC), electronic design automation (EDA), visual effects (VFX) and film editing, life sciences, seismic analysis, machine learning, and generative AI.


Organizations of all sizes are migrating on-premises workloads to AWS or deploying cloud native workloads to accelerate innovation, increase agility, improve security, and reduce costs. With FSx for ONTAP, customers have access to the full range of ONTAP features. These include multi-protocol access to data, point-in-time and space efficient Snapshot™ copies and replication for data protection, thin cloning for operational and cost efficiency and data tiering, deduplication and compression for improved cost savings. Scale-out file systems extend all these benefits with improved performance and capacity scalability.


A single Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP scaled-out file system can deliver up to 36GB per second of throughput and 1.2 million SSD input/output operations per second (IOPS) - a nine times improvement in performance from today’s 4GB per second throughput and 160,000 SSD IOPS limit. Up to six pairs of file servers, each providing up to 6GB per second throughput and 200,000 SSD IOPS at sub-millisecond file operation latencies, operate as one single storage cluster. Compute applications benefit from the higher aggregate performance and a single petabyte scale namespace simplifying management of large datasets within a single storage system. Customers can easily lift and shift, extend or deploy new high-performance workloads on AWS, while leveraging ONTAP’s data management features along with AWS’s agility, scalability, and security.

وشهد الحفل تكريم الفائزين في فروع الجائزة المختلفة، إذ حصل الأستاذ الدكتور شريف محمد دياب من كلية الطب البيطري بجامعة الملك فيصل على جائزة الباحث المتميز، ونال جائزة أفضل طبيب بيطري سعودي ممارس في الطب والعلاج الدكتور مصطفى بن محمد المرهون من الوحدة البيطرية بالدمام فرع وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بالمنطقة الشرقية.


ونال جائزة أفضل طبيب بيطري متميز لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي الدكتور شهاب بن عبد المجيد البلوشي من سلطنة عمان، وفازت بجائزة أفضل طبيبة بيطرية متميزة لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي الدكتورة أسيا عقيل راضي من مملكة البحرين، فيما نال جائزة الطالب المتفوق في الطب البيطري كلا من الطالب حيدر عبدالكريم العشوان من كلية الطب البيطري بجامعة الملك فيصل، والطالب محمد عبدالعزيز العوس من كلية الزراعة والطب البيطري بجامعة القصيم.


وفي هذا السياق قال عبدالله بن ناصر العتيبي: " تأتي رعاية المراعي السنوية لجائزة الطب البيطري تأكيدًا على أهميتها للمستقبل البيئي والغذائي في المملكة ودورها المحوري في تعزيز وتنمية الثروة الحيوانية، مضيفًا أن هذه الجائزة تعد إحدى اللبنات الرئيسية في دعم مهنة الطب البيطري في المملكة والخليج العربي.


من جهته، نوّه الدكتور صلاح بن عبد العزيز الشامي أمين عام جائزة المراعي للطب البيطري رئيس مجلس إدارة الجمعية الطبية البيطرية السعودية، بما تحظى به مهنة الطبيب البيطري من اهتمام في المملكة والخليج العربي؛ حيث تم تكريم 82 طبيبًا بيطريًّا وعالمًا منذ إنشاء الجائزة وحتى الآن.


يجدر بالذكر أن جائزة المراعي للطب البيطري لدول مجلس التعاون، انطلقت في عام 2010 بهدف التأكيد على الدور الفاعل للطبيب البيطري في حماية الصحة العامة للثروة الحيوانية في المملكة، وإظهار الوجه المشرق لمهنة الطب البيطري ودعمها.

During the ceremony, winners were honored in various branches of the award. Professor Sharif Mohammed Diab from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of King Faisal University received the award of distinguished researcher and the best Saudi veterinarian practitioner in medicine and treatment.


The award of Best Distinguished GCC Veterinarian was won by Dr. Shihab bin Abdul Majeed Al Balushi from the Sultanate of Oman and Dr. Asia Aqil Radi of the Kingdom of Bahrain won the award of the Best Distinguished Veterinarian of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Haider Abdulkarim Al-Ashwan received the Award for Excellence in Veterinary Medicine from King Faisal University's School of Veterinary Medicine, and student Mohammed Abdulaziz al-Aous from the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Qassim University.

La Global Futures Society est une plateforme réunissant certaines des plus grandes institutions mondiales impliquées dans la conception future et la planification stratégique, en plus des centres de recherche. Dubai’s Global Futures Society, world’s largest network of futurists, grows at Dubai Future Forum with 36 new institutions joining

Global Futures Society launched in 2022 and today includes some of the most important international institutions for future design and strategic planning.


Dubai Future Foundation announced today that 36 institutions from 17 countries have joined the existing four members of the Global Futures Society, the world’s largest global network of futurists.


Representatives of the international institutions participated in the Dubai Future Forum, which was held at the Museum of the Future on November 27 -28, representing the largest global gathering of futurists.


The society was launched last year by the Dubai Future Foundation to enhance the role of the Museum of the Future as a global headquarters for international future foresight institutions and to consolidate Dubai’s position as leading platform for strategic thinking.


The Global Futures Society is a platform bringing together some of the world’s major institutions involved in future design and strategic planning, in addition to research centers. Its aim is to facilitate collaboration in identifying opportunities and challenges, as well as preparing for them. The new members join the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), the Millennium Project, the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF), and the Public Sector Foresight Network (PSFN).


His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said: “The Global Futures Society was launched last year in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the Museum of the Future to become an international center for dialogue and partnerships, unifying international efforts in designing the future.”
