La Commission royale saoudienne d'Al-ʿUla a annoncé la naissance de deux bébés léopards d'Arabie, alors qu'elle entame un programme d'élevage visant à préserver et réintroduire la sous-espèce de félin gravement menacée d'extinction à sa vie sauvage au nord-ouest du royaume, et ce dans le cadre de son portefeuille d’initiatives pour les Léopards d'Arabie.

Les bébés léopards, un mâle et une femelle, sont nés le 26 avril au Centre du Prince Saud Al-Faisal sur les Recherches de la vie sauvage à Taëf, au nord-ouest de l'Arabie saoudite. Les bébés léopards ont franchi une étape critique de développement de 12 semaines, et ont été récemment vaccinés par des vétérinaires.

La naissance des bébés léopards reflète une étape importante alors que la Commission royale saoudienne d'Al-ʿUla entame ses initiatives pour les Léopards d'Arabie, et ce conformément avec les objectifs de la Charte de la Commission royale saoudienne d'Al-ʿUla, pour réaliser une transformation délicate et responsable de la région d'Al-ʿUla et protéger sa nature et sa vie sauvage.

La période initiale de 12 semaines a été la plus critique pour les bébés léopards d'Arabie nouvellement nés. La Commission royale saoudienne d'Al-ʿUla, en tant que centre d'excellence, est en voie d'établir un comité d'organisation composé d'experts de renom du monde entier afin d'améliorer et se renseigner à propos des pratiques des initiatives pour les Léopards d'Arabie en matière d'élevage en captivité, de services vétérinaires et de réintroduction à l'installation d'élevage située à Taëf. En février, il a été annoncé que le Fonds mondial pour les léopards d'Arabie, nouvellement créé, recevra une dotation initiale de 25 millions de dollars, ce qui le rend le plus grand fonds au monde entièrement dédié à la sauvegarde des léopards d'Arabie. Actuellement en phase de planification stratégique et de mise en place opérationnelle, le Fonds mondial sera pleinement mobilisé d'ici la fin de l'année 2019.

L'annonce des nouveaux bébés léopards fait également suite à la signature en juin d'un accord de partenariat entre le gouverneur de la Commission royale saoudienne d'Al-ʿUla, le Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Farhan Al Saud et le docteur Thomas Kaplan, président de Panthera, l'organisation mondiale de protection des félins sauvages.

Grâce à ce partenariat, l'Arabie saoudite a rejoint l'Alliance mondiale pour la Conservation des félins sauvages en s'engageant à investir un montant de 20 millions de dollars américains au cours des 10 prochaines années.

أعلنت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا عن مولد صغيرين للنمر العربي، ضمن برنامجها للتربية والإكثار، لحماية الأنواع المهددة بالانقراض من النمور، وإعادة توطينها في بيئاتها الطبيعية في المملكة، ضمن مبادراتها لحماية النمور العربية.

وُلد الصغيران -ذكر وأنثى- في 26 أبريل الماضي، وقد اجتازا مرحلة حرجة خلال الإثنا عشر أسبوعاً الأولى من عمرهما، وتم تطعيمهما مؤخراً باللقاحات والأمصال الضرورية، من قبل فريق بيطري متخصص.

وأعلنت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا في فبراير الماضي عن إنشاء الصندوق العالمي لحماية النمر العربي، وتخصيص ميزانية مبدئية بقيمة 25 مليون دولار لمبادرات حماية النمر العربي، ما يجعله الصندوق الأكبر من نوعه في العالم، والمخصص بالكامل لحماية النمر العربي، وسيتم تشغيل الصندوق بحلول نهاية العام الجاري 2019، بعد الانتهاء من مرحلة التخطيط الاستراتيجي والتجهيز التشغيلي.

ويأتي إعلان مولد صغيري النمر العربي، بعد توقيع اتفاقية شراكة بالغة الأهمية في يونيو الماضي، بين صاحب السمو الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن محمد بن فرحان آل سعود، محافظ الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا، والدكتور توماس كابلان، رئيس منظمة بانثيرا لحماية القطط الكبيرة. ومن خلال هذه الشراكة، انضمت المملكة العربية السعودية بدورها إلى التحالف العالمي لحماية القطط البرية.

Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has announced the birth of two Arabian leopard cubs, as it commences a breeding programme to help preserve and eventually reintroduce the critically endangered big cat subspecies back into the wild in the North West of the Kingdom as part of its portfolio of Arabian Leopard Initiatives (ALI).
The cubs, one male and one female, were born on 26 April at the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Wildlife Research Centre in Taif in the North West of Saudi Arabia. The cubs have passed a critical developmental milestone of 12 weeks and were recently vaccinated by veterinarians.
The birth of the cubs is a significant milestone as the RCU commences its Arabian Leopard Initiatives (ALI), aligning it with the goals and objectives of the RCU Charter to deliver a sensitive and responsible transformation of the AlUla region and protect its nature and wildlife.
The initial 12-week period was the most critical for the newly born Arabian leopard cubs. It was during this period that they successfully bonded with their 10-year-old mother Hamms (which means whisper in Arabic), learned important behaviours and grew stronger in the seclusion of their den before they were visited and vaccinated. The cubs will remain with their mother for the next 18 months to two years in line with global best practice for captive breeding programmes.
Commenting on this major milestone in the future of the Arabian leopard, Minister of Culture and RCU Governor His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Farhan Al Saud said: “This is an historic moment in our efforts to reintroduce the Arabian leopard to the AlUla region. With fewer than an estimated 200 Arabian leopards remaining in the wild globally, this is one of the most critically endangered animals in the world, and these cubs represent a new beacon of hope for the renewal of a subspecies on the brink of extinction. It is our duty to protect, conserve and build population numbers to preserve the species from becoming a footnote of history.
“That is why the RCU is actively championing the revitalisation of the Arabian leopard to support the future of this rare and majestic big cat that is native to AlUla. The birth of these two cubs will be the first of many as our specialised captive breeding programme grows and develops – boosted by the support of local experts, as well as global partners like Panthera.”
The RCU’s Arabian Leopard Initiatives (ALI) combine several projects working toward the preservation of this critically endangered subspecies including an extensive captive breeding and reintroduction programme, as well as the establishment of the Global Fund for the Arabian Leopard. 
As a Centre of Excellence, RCU is establishing a steering committee with leading experts from around the world to enhance and inform ALI’s captive breeding, husbandry, veterinary and reintroduction practices in the existing breeding facility located in Taif. The committee will also help guide the design of a state-of-the-art breeding centre to be constructed in AlUla County and consult on habitat revitalisation projects in the Sharaan Nature Reserve.
It was announced in February that the newly created Global Fund for the Arabian Leopard will have an initial endowment of US$25 million, making it the largest fund in the world wholly dedicated to safeguarding the Arabian leopard. Currently in the strategic planning and operational set-up phase, the Global Fund will be fully mobilised by the end of 2019.
The announcement of the newborn leopard cubs also follows the signing in June of a partnership agreement between the RCU Governor His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Farhan Al Saud and Dr. Thomas Kaplan, chairman of the global wild cat conservation organisation Panthera.
Saudi Arabia, through this partnership, has in turn joined the Global Alliance for Wild Cats, making a commitment to invest $US 20 million over the next 10 years.

(بزنيس واير): أعلنت اليوم شركة "فلور" (المدرجة في بورصة نيويورك تحت الرمز NYSE: FLR) عن حصولها على عقد لتوفير خدمات إدارة الهندسة والمشتريات والإنشاءات لصالح شركة "كيوبريك كانيون كابيتال" لمشروع "كوميكاو" لاستخراج النحاس والفضة شمالي غربي بوتسوانا. وقد أدرجت "فلور" العقد الذي لم يتم الإفصاح عن قيمته، في الربع الثاني من عام 2019.

وقال طوني مورجان، رئيس قسم أعمال التعدين والمعادن لدى "فلور"، في هذا السياق: "لقد عملنا عن كثب مع ’كيوبريك كانيون‘ خلال مرحلة التصميم الهندسي الأولي للمشروع بهدف وضع خطة للتصميم والتنفيذ فعالة من ناحية رأس المال. كما شاركت ’فلور‘ في إدارة الإنشاءات للأعمال المبكّرة لتأهيل الموقع وإزالة الأعشاب وشق طريق للنقل وإعداد البنية التحتية السطحية. بموجب هذا العقد، ستعمل "فلور" على ترقية مصنع تركيز النحاس القائم والبنية التحتية الجديدة لسطح المنجم. ومن المتوقع أن ينتج المشروع الجديد نحو 62 ألف طن متري من النحاس و1.9 مليون أونصة من الفضة سنوياً، مما يزيد من عمر المنجم بحوالى 20 عاماً.

Fluor Awarded EPCM Contract by Cupric Canyon Capital for Project in Botswana

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract by Cupric Canyon Capital for its Khoemacau copper and silver project in northwest Botswana. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value in the second quarter of 2019.

“We worked closely with Cupric Canyon in the project’s front-end engineering and design phase to establish a capital-efficient design and execution plan for the project,” said Tony Morgan, president of Fluor’s Mining & Metals business. “Fluor was also involved in construction management of the early works for the camp upgrade, bush clearing, transport corridor and surface infrastructure terrace preparation.”

Fluor’s scope includes upgrading the existing copper concentrator plant and new mine surface infrastructure. The project is expected to produce an annual average of 62,000 metric tons of copper and 1.9 million ounces of silver with a life of mine in excess of 20 years.

“We will leverage our local capabilities and extensive copper experience to execute the Khoemacau project with excellence – safely, on time, on budget and with quality,” added Morgan.

وقد أوضح الدكتور ابراهيم الغيثي، رئيس قسم أمراض الدم والأورام للأطفال، أن تطبيق مكتبة الأطفال كان حلم لكثير من الأطفال وذويهم إذ أن القراءة  بالإضافة لكونها مهارة تعليمية فهي من أكثر وأسهل الهوايات التي يستطيع  الأطفال المحافظة على ممارستها أثناء فترة العلاج. فكثير من الأطفال وذويهم يستمتع بالقراءة لشغل أوقات الفراغ، ولكن القراءة في الحقيقة تمثل إلهاما لكثير من الناس من خلال الشخصيات البطولية وإنجازاتهم في الروايات والقصص. وهذا بلا شك يمثل دافع إيجابي للأطفال وذويهم في متابعة خطة العلاج.

وقد صرّح المهندس اسامه الزدجالي مدير الاتصالات وشؤون الشركة لشركة آرا للبترول بإيجاز عن دور الشركة ومساهماتها في المشاريع المجتمعية: " تتتميز شركات الطاقة في اسهاماتها بالمشاريع الخيرية المختلفة التزاما لتحقيق الترابط مع المجتمع المحلي وخدمتة نحو النهوض بكافة الخدمات، وقد وضعنا خطة عمل مرسومة وآلية الاختيار بين المشاريع المختلفة سواء كانت كتبرعات أو تمويل أو خدمة المجتمع المحلي، وكان مجال التعليم هدفنا في العام المنصرم ولله الحمد قمنا بالتنسيق لها، وإيمانا منا بصحة أطفال اليوم أعمدة المجتمع غداً وشباب المستقبل فقد أولينا اهتمامنا هذا العام بأطفال قسم الأورام وأمراض الدم بالمستشفى السلطاني وتأتي فكرة هذا التطبيق ضمن أولوياتنا بمواكبة التكنولوجيا الحديثة لتساهم في رسم الابتسامة على محيا الأطفال وتنمية مهارات القراءة كذلك".

وأضاف الدكتور ابراهيم الغيثي بأن الطاقم الطبي يأمل بأن التطبيق سيتطور ليشمل في المستقبل بعض المناهج التعليمية بحيث يكون بمقدور الأطفال الاستمرارية في التحصيل الدراسي، وثمّن دور شركة آرا للبترول بتدشين التطبيق وهي احدى شركات مجموعة الزبير والمتخصصة في مجال الطاقة، حيث قامت برعاية وتمويل مشروع التطبيق الذكي لأطقال قسم أمراض الدم والأورام بالمستشفى السلطاني.

وأشار محمد البغدادي رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة تكنوليدج إلى سعادته الغامرة بوجود مؤسسات تدعم وتهتم بتقديم مثل هذه الحلول لكل من هو بحاجة لها، وعقّب على ذلك: "لقد كانت فكرة تقديم تطبيق للقراءة المجانية للأطفال المرضى فكرة تراودنا منذ زمن، حيث اطلعنا على تجارب مماثلة في مستشفيات كبيرة عالمية وحلمنا في تقديم الفكرة ضمن إطار إبداعي تكنولوجي يتماشى مع التطور التقني الذي يشهده أطفالنا، وإنطلاقاً من شراكتنا القديمة مع المستشفى السلطاني قررنا تقديم فكرة المشروع لهم والتي لاقت إهتمام كبير من إدارة المستشفى ليتم ولله الحمد إطلاق التطبيق بجهود جميع الأطراف المعنيّة". 

بإطلاق التطبيق سيتمكن كل طفل بالمستشفى من تحميل التطبيق مجاناً من المتاجر الإلكترونية Apple store, Google Play ومن ثم مسح الرمز الخاص بالدخول والذي سيجده ملصقاً على سرير الشفاء للإستمتاع بمئات القصص التي تم اختيارها خصيصاً بمواضيع ومستويات عمرية مختلفة. يعمل التطبيق بدعم من نظام "نهلة وناهل" وهو نظام يهدف لتطوير حب القراءة باللغة العربية للأطفال من خلال خصائص متنوعة تضيف المرح والحماس على نفوس الأطفال.

نبذة عن "نهلة وناهل"

هي المنصة الأولى من نوعها للقراءة والفهم باللغة العربية للأطفال ا بين 4 إلى 11 عامًا بجميع مستوياتهم في القراءة. وتشمل مئات الكتب المصنّفة حسب المستويات العمرية، صادرة عن أهم دور النشر التعليمية والرائدة على مستوى الشرق الأوسط. كما أن الكتب متاحة ككتب صوتية تعتمد على تكنولوجيا متطورة تساعد الطفل على اللفظ الصحيح.
